Indications
Based on examinations conducted by the Institute for Hydrogeology, as well as the recommendations of the Institute for Balneology of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, the following treatment indications were established:
1. Inflammatory rheumatism
- Rheumatoid arthritis (reduced inflammation phase),
- Bekhterev's disease (initial stadium),
- Psoriatic arthritis.
2. Degenerative rheumatism
- Spondylosis of the neck and lower back portion of the spine,
- Discus hernia, discarthrosis, lumbar sciatica,
- Gonarthrosis, coxarthrosis, arthrosis,
- Osteoarthrosis of the small joints of the hands and feet.
3. Osteoporosis
4. Gout
5. Conditions following bone fractures and surgical interventions on the bone-joint system
- Conditions following the implantation of an artificial hip or knee.
6. Gynecological diseases
- Adnexitis, parametritis, sterility (with a previous diagnosis).
The altitude of the Lukovska Spa, combined with the air flow from the surrounding mountains and their forests creates excellent conditions for the treatment of anaemia, recovery after serious illness and after infarctions of the heart and brain.
The numerous thermal springs of Lukovska banja leave the air full of moisture and free of allergenic particles and dust, while the surrounding forests create a large number of negative ions and phytoncides, particularly important in treating patients with chronic bronchitis and asthma.
The climate of the Lukovska Spa is favourable for breathing and heart activity, the fresh air increases the appetite, calms the nerves and reduces tension, improves sleep and creates vigour and cheer.
